El Ayudante has made lasting impacts thousands of people, from both Honduras and the volunteers that have come to minister. It’s amazing to be a part of watching lives be impacted in a lasting way! God is changing lives!

These are just a few of the many testimonies of lives that have been changed through what God is doing at El Ayudante.

My experience in Honduras changed my view of missions.  I have supported foreign mission work financially throughout my adult life.  As well, I have participated in many local mission’s projects and camps for children for many years.  As a children’s pastor, I found great joy in promoting missions to children and providing creative opportunities for children to participate in giving and doing mission’s work both locally and in foreign countries.  Bob and I support students at EA’s learning center and pray for our missionary friends who serve there.  But, going to Honduras solidified what I already knew but needed to experience . . . missions has faces.  Missions is about people whom God loves so dearly.  In Honduras, God’s love expanded my heart to love deeper and purer because eternity matters.

After coming home from a trip like this one, you are changed from the inside out.  I look at my own community differently.  I seek to find opportunities to be more bold with my love for God and His purposes.  I equate the blessing of finances to the necessity to share them with the needs around me and with those whose lives depend upon them.  I pray for my Honduras missionary friends more faithfully.  God blessed my husband and me with a different view of God’s world.  Honduras, like all the world, is precious to God.  His people are there and need His love through grace.  I rejoice in the fact that one day I will spend eternity singing God’s praises with my Honduran friends.  We are family, indeed.

Ever since high school, I felt the call for missions. After high school, I got married and we started a family, and I eventually started my career, but I always held onto the dream that one day I would “go.”  In 2018, my church announced an upcoming missions trip. My heart leaped and I knew I had to go. God was faithful, as always, and provided every penny needed. He also gave me the scripture Ephesians 3:20- “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us.” Little did I know that was the very theme of El Ayudante for that year.

He kept confirming that verse over and over in different ways; I could write a testimony on that verse alone. He definitely did exceedingly abundantly more than I imagined.

The people of Honduras welcomed us with loving arms. I was amazed, and still am, at how kind everyone was to us. Many of the people there have next to nothing, but they have so much gratefulness and so much love, unlike anything I’ve seen before. We’ve been twice now, and we are about to go a third time, and each time I leave, a part of my heart stays there.

The children in the mountains were my favorite. Their giggles and their smiles just melted me. Their excitement at VBS over the songs we sang, the stories we told, the games we played, brought me just as much joy as it did them.

When we had the privilege of going to church in the mountains, I was moved so deeply at their pure, authentic worship. I could feel their love for us, and it was definitely mutual. The only way I can describe that time is that it felt like heaven invaded earth. I felt the presence of the Holy Spirit like never before. I was so aware of how near he is.  It was something I was made for.

On both trips I got to lead people into a relationship with Jesus, and I saw people healed before my very eyes.  I’m forever grateful for the Honduran people and the missionaries. I’ll never be the same again…and I don’t want to be!

We covet your prayers as we walk out God's call for EA in Honduras. We are trusting God for direction and financial provision. When you give to El Ayudante, 100% of the donation funds the ministry
