Medical Missions: Dr. Jeff
Since 2014, Clinica El Ayudante has been formative in my professional, personal and spiritual growth. Unlike many medical brigade ministry models, EA provides the opportunity for a patient to receive comprehensive medical and dental care year-round in a compassionate Christian environment.
The personal and educational quality of the medical and dental staff are exemplary. And as a result of the generosity of so many, (the facilities, equipment, and therapeutic resources), the clinic is able to provide North American quality care to the under-resourced. More importantly, that excellence in care opens the door to address the spiritual needs of that individual or family. It is holistic health care in the very best sense of the word.
Along with restoring functional vision, there have been very complex eye/systemic conditions and issues that have challenged me professionally. Being able to work/consult with the medical team has been invaluable. But one of the greatest gifts I have received has been being the recipient of encouragement and prayer from the patients and Honduran staff alike. Through a few very difficult seasons over the years, I was the one who received the greater blessing.
So, my challenge to you is to come and see a model of medical ministry like no other, and experience what the Lord is doing here at Clinica El Ayudante!
